A village where history comes to life

Surrounded by wonderful flora and fauna, the Alsace Ecomuseum enables visitors to relive the history
of the whole region. In the village, which includes 70 authentic half-timbered houses, they can discover
the daily life of the inhabitants of old, and the wealth of architecture in Alsace. Inside the houses
and in the courtyards, a number of craftsmen, including for exemple a blacksmith, a saddler and a
stonemason, can be seen plying their traditional trades and sharing their expertise with the visitors.

There is always something new at the Ecomuseum

Throughout the year, many events are held on Sundays at the Ecomuseum, to mark every change of season. The festivals and traditions take visitors into the festive atmosphere of a village from days gone by. Nature and Agriculture events allow them to observe fauna and flora and join in with farm work, while Arts and Trades events give both young and old the chance to chat to village craftsmen about their work. Lastly, a large number of amusement attractions, concerts and shows all add to the calendar of events.
